About Us
Who we are!
We are a not for profit organization, that came to life when a young girl in Gaza, Palestine was looking desperately for water and couldn’t find a drop of it. Green Crescent Society was conceived by the founder AbdulAziz Abbas Quraishi when he came across a little girl that was crying for water she tries to get every drop she could from a water faucet from a water storage tank in Gaza, Palestine .
This motivated the founder to use existing technologies being offered on a commercial scale for humanitarian needs.
Our mission at Green Crescent Welfare Society is to be a humanitarian relief provider around the world with near 100% of the funds donated by the donors going to the cause, which’s a rare case in this sector.

What is Chairty?
Charity is generosity and helpfulness, especially toward the needy or suffering.
A: Aid given to those in need, received charity from the neighbors.
B: An institution engaged in relief of the poor.
What can you do for us?
We are constantly looking for help, whether it be financial or materials that are very much in need.
In another saying, the Prophet said: “A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he neither oppresses him nor does he fail him…” (Muslim). In fact, the Prophet characterized the “ummah” as one body, and when one part is injured, the entire body feels the pain.
Zakat is a fixed amount (2.5%). Whereas with Sadaqah, a Muslim can donate as much or as little as they wish. Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah can be a means of ongoing reward for a Muslim who passes on from this world. Whereas Zakat is a charity you can only perform whilst alive.
